Here on offer are two unused hazelnut wood cigar or cigarette holders, still in their original labelled “Christmas 1917” cardboard Field Post shipping box.

My understanding is that they were made by disabled German ex-service men, in hospital workshops, to be sent to the WW1 battle front as a Christmas gift in 1917.
