Vintage 3.5” Single Bladed Folding Knife with Candy Stripe Grip c1950
Here on offer is a vintage 3.5” single bladed folding knife. There are no visible maker’s marks, but it is possibly by Richards of Sheffield, who did market this type of knife, back in the 1950’s.
The steel blade is in good condition, with some scratches and light spotting. It still retains a good cutting edge and has a very slight curve that could be easily straightened out. It still retains a strong “open and close” action, but it can be forced slightly “side to side” where it fits/hinges against the top bolster.
The bolsters are chrome plated and the top has a ribbed pattern and the bottom is plain and fitted with a swivel lanyard loop.
The grip scales are hollow metal wrapped in a candy stripe celluloid with a little staining underneath.
The cutting edge measures 3.25” (8.4cm) long and when open, the knife measures 8.4” (21.2cm) long, excluding the lanyard loop.
It weighs 74g.
