Here on offer is an excellent example of a solid brass nautical, ‘BRITAINS PRIDE’ sailor figure doorstop.
It is difficult to age but the casting looks to be old and I know of others that show a Registered Design number 320316, which dates to 1898.
The Sailor is posed leaning on a harbour tie post and he seems to be holding a telescope.
