Unusual Vintage Small Skinning Knife with 3” Clip-Point Fixed Blade and Stag Horn Grip by C.K Tools

Here on offer is an unusual vintage small skinning knife with a 3” clip-point fixed blade and stag horn grip, by C.K Tools (Carl Kammerling).

This is the only example of a knife made by C.K. Tools that I have come across. They are a well-known manufacturer of hand and electrical tools as well as utility, pocket, and hunting knives historically produced or sourced from Germany and Italy.

On one side of the 3” clip-point stainless steel blade, it has the C.K trade mark enclosed in a hexagonal border. Below that is the model number, 9221 and then 3”, indicating the size of the blade.

On the other side it is marked with the C.K logo, STAINLESS and what looks like, ITALY, indicating this example was made in Italy.
Then on the ricasso, it is stamped with INOX, from the French word inoxydable, indicating a stain-resistant steel alloy, basically stainless steel.

The blade is in excellent condition, no rust marks, just light scratch marks to both sides.

It has an aluminium single finger guard and coloured red ringed spacers at both ends of the fine solid section of the really smooth and impressive stag antler horn.

At the top it is fitted with a solid oval shaped polished aluminium pommel that secures the blade tang with a hexagonal, brass nut that fits flush to the top.

It comes with its original brown leather stitched and riveted sheath, with a fastening strap and belt loop. On the front it has the embossed image of the head of an Indian Chief. It does have a couple of issues, with some of the stitching now missing on the curved edge and rusting to the rivets and snap fastener, which now doesn’t snap together anymore.
The knife has a 3” (7.6cm) blade and the whole knife measures 6.25” (15.9cm) long.

Including the sheath, it weighs 68g.
