Antique Stag Handled Clip Point Bowie Knife with new Custom made Black Leather Sheath

Here on offer is what appears to be an antique stag handled clip point Bowie knife with a new custom made black leather sheath.

The handle is made up from two beautiful coloured slabs of genuine stag horn, that are held in place on a central flat blade tang by three brass pins.
The grip is the type where any raised areas on the stag antler have been rubbed down to create a smooth finish, leaving a natural grooved pattern.
Both slabs are in excellent undamaged condition.

The oval crossguard is made from solid brass and is in excellent order and retains its tight fit to the handle and blade ricasso.

The 6” clip point blade is made from a high quality steel that has been polished to remove any marks, resulting in a now bright finish, that retains a good cutting edge and Bowie shape.
This has however, resulted in any makers marks or details being removed.

This knife does however look to be a Sheffield made piece in my opinion, very similar to a Bowie knife I have listed under item 50399, that was made by H.G Long & Co of Sheffield.

It now comes with a new custom made black leather stitched and hand tooled sheath, with a fastening strap and belt loop.

The blade measures 6” (15.3cm) long and the knife is 10.2” (25.7cm) in total length.

It weighs 275g.
