Fine Vintage Sterling Silver Dagger and Scabbard Brooch Fitted with Chrysoprase Cabochons

Here on offer is an unusual ornate vintage sterling silver dagger and scabbard brooch, that is embellished with beautiful chrysoprase cabochons.

Chrysoprase cabochons are smooth, polished gemstones with a domed top and a flat bottom, cut from chrysoprase—a translucent, nickel-bearing variety of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz) famous for its vibrant apple-green to sage-green colour.

The dagger can be removed from the scabbard are then only connected by a chain. Both have a fixing pin on the back, so the brooch can be worn in a number of configurations, even like the old Victorian cloak chains.

Both parts of the brooch are made from sterling (925 grade) silver, which is actually stamped on the back of the scabbard.

It is in excellent condition with no damage and can still be worn today.!

With the dagger inserted in the scabbard, the brooch measures 3.5” (9cm) long and weighs 16.5g.
