Vintage M.O.D Pattern Large Rigging Knife with Carbon Steel Blade and Rosewood Grip

Here on offer is a vintage M.O.D pattern large riggers knife with carbon steel blade and rosewood grip.

This large version of a riggers knife has a 5.75” long and 1.6” wide, single edged thin carbon steel, blunt tipped blade, with fine rosewood grip scales that are held in place by five steel pins.

There is no maker that I can see on the blade as it has seen some service and now shows scratch marks and darkening to the blade finish. A lot of this type of knife were made by J. NOWILL & SONS Sheffield, for the British military during the 1970’s and 80’s.

The blade measures 5.75” (14.6cm) long and the whole knife is 10.7” (27cm) long.
It weighs 125g.
