Vintage Miniature Charm/Fob Faux Mother of Pearl Penknife - Souvenir of VEZELAY in France c1960

Here on offer is a mint example of a cute (I don’t use that word often) vintage souvenir miniature charm or fob penknife, circa 1960.

It has what appear to be faux Mother of Pearl scales, which might actually be real MOP? At the end it has been fitted with a suspension ring

On one scale it has been inset with gilt lettering that reads:

VEZELAY

Vezelay is a commune in the department of Yonne in the north-central French region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comte. It is a defensible hill town famous for Vezelay Abbey. The town and its 11th-century Romanesque Basilica of St Magdalene are designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The knife has a folding 0.75” polished stainless steel blade, that is in mint condition.

There are no maker’s details on the blade or knife but the knife has actually been well made, most probably in France.

The blade measures 0.75” (0.8cm) and when closed the knife measures 1” (2.5cm) long, excluding its suspension ring.

It weighs 1.5g.
