WW2 British Army Two-Piece Clasp or Jack Knife by Sheffield Steel Products (S.S.P.) dated 1943

Here on offer is a fine example of a genuine WW2 British Army two-piece, clasp or jack knife by Sheffield Steel Products (S.S.P.) and dated 1943.

This two-piece type has a single 2.75” steel blade, a can opener, stamped on one side with a Broad Arrow, the date 1943 and the maker S.S.P., which relates to Sheffield Steel Products.

Then at the pivot end of the knife, it has a flat headed screwdriver.

This example is the type with Bakelite bolsters that are part of the chequered Bakelite grip scales. Both scales are in excellent undamaged condition.

At the end is a large steel swivel lanyard loop.

The blade and can opener fold securely into the grip, making it compact and easy to carry. They are VERY stiff to open, meaning this knife has seen little use.

The polished steel blade and can opener are in excellent condition, with just minor scotches and some age darkening marks.

It is unusual to find a genuine WW2 Jack Knife in such good condition.

The blade measures 2.75” (7cm) long and the knife when closed is 3.75” (9.5cm), excluding the lanyard ring.

It weighs 131g.
