Mint Vintage Commando Style Knife by William Rodgers “I CUT MY WAY” with Stag Horn Grip and Leather Sheath c1960
Here on offer is a near mint vintage commando style knife by William Rodgers “I CUT MY WAY” with a fine stag horn grip and leather sheath.
It has a mint 6” double edged stiletto type blade with sharp cutting edges and a mirror bright finish.
On one side of the blade, it is etched with the maker’s details:
'I CUT MY WAY'
WILLIAM RODGERS
SHEFFIELD ENGLAND
It is fitted with an oval shaped polished aluminium finger guard.
The grip has been made from a solid piece of fine stag antler horn that is finished at both ends with stacked thick leather, brass and coloured plastic spacers.
At the top it is fitted with a solid oval shaped polished aluminium pommel that secures the blade tang with a recessed hexagonal brass nut at the top.
It comes with its original tan leather stitched and riveted sheath, with a slotted belt loop and retaining strap with a press stud fixing. It is stamped, SHEFFIELD ENGLAND on the belt loop flap.
The knife is in mint condition and looks to be unused. It is almost impossible to find genuine 1960’s examples in this condition these days, making it a great collector’s piece, by a famous English knife maker.
The blade measures 6.1” (15.5cm) long and the knife itself is a total of 10.6” (27cm) long.
Including the sheath, it weighs 200g.
