Small Vintage Bowie Knife with 2.75” Blade and Stacked Leather Grip by TAYLOR of Sheffield

Here on offer is a small bowie knife with a stacked leather grip made by TAYLOR of Sheffield., England.

TAYLOR of Sheffield—officially known as Taylor's Eye Witness—is one of the UK’s most famous historical cutlery brands. Originating in Sheffield (the traditional home of British steel), the company has been hand-crafting kitchen knives, scissors, and pocket knives since John Taylor first opened his workshop in 1820.

This unusual vintage small bowie/hunting knife is in great condition and has a 2.75” polished steel blade, that now shows some staining to the finish.

On one side of the blades ricasso it is stamped with the maker’s details:

TAYLOR
SHEFFIELD
ENGLAND

It has a brass single finger guard and brass and black ringed spacers at both ends of the smooth stacked leather grip.

At the top it is fitted with a solid oval shaped polished aluminium pommel.

It still retains its original brown leather sheath, with retaining strap and stud fastener that is in excellent condition. It has a slotted belt loop that is stamped with:

This finely made knife is unusual to find in this size.

The knife has a 2.75” (7cm) blade and the whole knife measures 5.5” (14cm) long.

It weighs 45g.
