Vintage Hunting Bowie Knife by FAGAN with Stacked Leather Grip and New Handmade Leather Sheath

Here on offer is a hunting bowie knife by FAGAN with a stacked leather grip and new handmade leather sheath.

This bowie/hunting knife is actually in excellent condition and has a 5.25” polished steel blade.

The grip has a brass single finger guard and beautiful brass and coloured red and black ringed spacers at both ends of the stacked leather section.

At the top it is fitted with a solid oval shaped polished aluminium pommel that secures the blade tang with a recessed, brass nut at the top.

The impressive bowie shaped blade is in excellent condition with some light scratch marks that I am sure would polish out.

On one side of the ricasso is stamped:

FAGAN (inside a banner)
FOREIGN

I believe that these blades were made in Germany just after WW2 for W.H. FAGAN & Son of Sheffield England.

Due at that time to the sensitivity of things marked with MADE IN GERMANY at the time, these blades where just marked as FOREIGN.

The new sheath has been made hand from a reddish brown coloured leather with a hand tooled pattern on the front. It has been stitched together with thick twine and has a press stud retaining strap.

This very well made knife would make a great addition to any Bowie knife collection

The blade measures 5.25” (13.2cm) long and the knife itself is a total of 9” (22.8cm) long.

Including the sheath, it weighs 190g.
