WW2 British Army Three-Piece Clasp or Jack Knife Stamped with a Broad Arrow and 1946.
Here on offer is a genuine WW2 British Army three-piece, clasp or jack knife, made in Sheffield and stamped with a Broad Arrow and the date 1946. There is no visible maker’s mark on this late war/post war example.
This three-piece type has a single 2.6” blade, a can opener, stamped on one side with a Broad Arrow and the date 1946.
There is also a marlinspike and flat headed screwdriver.
The steel bolsters and chequered Bakelite grip scales are in excellent condition. There is just a small slice missing from the top of the bolster end of one of the grip plates. It was possibly made like that?
At the end is a large steel swivel lanyard loop.
The blades and tools fold into the grip, making it compact and easy to carry.
The steel blade a great cutting edge and the finish now has areas of dark staining and very light pitting, as do the can opener and marlin spike.
All three of the tools are still very firm to open and close with a strong snap action.
The blade cutting edge measures 2.4” (6cm) long and the knife when closed is 3.75” (9.5cm) long, excluding the lanyard ring.
It weighs 152g.
