Large Antique French Bronze Yachting L’ UNION Nautical Club Medal to W. KENT a Crew Member 1890

Here on offer is large antique French bronze yachting L’ UNION Nautical Club medal awarded to W. KENT, a crew member, dated 1890.

The obverse features an image of sailing ships at sea and I believe it was engraved by Adolphe Lavée and produced by the French firm, Bertrand.

The reverse depicts an ornate wreath of palm and laurel branches and what looks like a Greek god like figure. In the centre it is engraved with the details:

1890

The medal retains its suspension ring at the top and is in excellent condition, with just some light edge dings.

The medal measures 2” (5.1cm) diameter (excluding the ring) and weighs 60g.
