Beautiful Antique Miniature Silver and Bone Magnifying Glass with London Import Mark c1920
Here on offer is a beautiful antique miniature silver and bone magnifying glass with a small suspension ring, circa 1920.
The handle on this piece is made from bone and just has a small hairline crack, near the top, where the suspension ring and pin is fitted. It attaches snuggly to the ribbed silver stem section of the magnifying glass.
The ribbed section has been stamped with 925 and a London import mark, for 1906 to 1998, along with a maker’s mark, being the letters A.N.
This is obviously a continental piece, possibly French and was probably made around in the early part of the 20th century, but I can’t identify the A.N maker.
The glass is in perfect condition as is the silver frame. Please see my photos.
It measures 3” (2.6cm) long, excluding the ring and the silver frame is 1.1” (2.8cm) diameter.
It weighs 10.3g.
Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.
