Short British Military Police Wooden Truncheon c1960

Here on offer is what I am told is a short version of a British Police truncheon, circa 1960.

It has been well made from what looks to be a lighter wood than the normal hardwoods that were used on earlier versions.

It retains a cord loop threaded through the top of the grip.

These smaller truncheons are actually hard to come by in such good condition and this one made from a lighter wood is unusual.

The truncheon is in excellent condition with just light surface scratches and a small chip to one of the raised rings, just below the grip.

It measures 12” (30.5cm) long, by 1.4” (3.5cm) diameter at the wide end.

It weighs 260g.
