Here on offer is a fine antique French letter opener with an ornate silver bolster and ebony handle by E. Page & Co. of Lyon, France circa 1900.
This is actually a well-made and useful letter opener with a undamaged double edged blade.
The antique steel blade now shows signs of age darkening to the finish and is engraved on one side with:
E. Page et Cie Lyon
This translates to E. Page & Co. of Lyon, where E. Page & Co. could be the maker or a distributer in Lyon, back in the 1900’s.
The grip is made from one beautiful piece of ebony wood and is in excellent undamaged condition.
What adds a touch of class to this piece is the ornate silver bolster.
This is a fine knife/letter opener, that makes a great collector’s piece than can still be used today.
The blade measures 4.25” (10.8cm) long and whole knife measures 7.25” (18.4cm) long.
It weighs 18g.
