WW1 German Trench Art Driving Band Gilt Bracelet with Safety Chain
Here on offer is a great example of a WW1 German trench art driving band gilt bracelet with safety chain.
This bracelet has been made from a copper driving band salvaged from a WW1 German artillery shell.
A gilt finish was applied and it retains the original grooved driving band pattern to the outer surface.
The band is hinged at one side, with the opposite side fitted with a fully working, inline release catch.
There is also a gilt wire safety chain to ensure it doesn’t just fall of your wrist when opened.
The interior of the band has a crosshatched finish and a plain blank oval cartouche, where the owner’s details can be engraved.
The bracelet is in excellent condition retaining most its bright gilt finish.
The inside measurements are 2.3” (5.8cm) by 2” (4.9cm) and it weighs 55g.
