Here on offer is a vintage “The War Widows Association of Great Britain” lapel bar pin and enamel pendant, by F.C. Parry of Birmingham.

The gilt metal and enamel diamond-shaped pin badge has a white chrysanthemum at the centre and the inscription, THE WAR WIDOWS ASSOCIATION OF GREAT BRITAIN, around the edge.
The badge is suspended from an ornate gilt bar that has a fixing pin and “C” clasp on the reverse.

The War Widows Association of Great Britain is an advocacy group for widows and widowers of British military personnel killed in wartime. It was founded in 1971 to persuade the British government to make the widows' pension tax-free, a goal which it finally obtained in 1979. It represents war widows at remembrance ceremonies. The association holds an Annual Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph, Whitehall, on the day before Remembrance Sunday. The organisation's emblem is the white chrysanthemum.

The badge is in excellent condition, with no loss of gilt or enamel.

The badge measures 0.85” (2.2cm) square and the bar is 1.5” (3.8cm) wide.

It weighs 10g.
