Mint I*XL GEORGE WOSTENHOLM Double Bladed Knife with Jigged Bone Grip Scales

Here on offer is a fine example mint I*XL GEORGE WOSTENHOLM double bladed knife with jigged bone grip scales, that was made in Sheffield, England.

The larger clip point stainless steel blade is in perfect condition.

On one side of the ricasso it is stamped with the maker’s details:

I*XL GEORGE
WOSTENHOLM

On the other side is:

SHEFFIELD
ENGLAND

The smaller sheepsfoot shaped stainless steel blade is also in mint condition and has no markings on it.

The knife has two slices of natural jigged bone that have been shaped to form a smooth and tight fit to the brass liners and they are held in place by three brass pins.

It has a nickel silver bolsters at both ends.

The knife opens and closes perfectly, having a strong spring action.

The larger clip point blade measures 2.75” (7cm) long and has a 2.3” (6cm) cutting edge. The smaller sheepsfoot blade has a 2” (5cm) long with a cutting edge of 1.6” (4cm) long.

Closed the knife measures 4” (10.2cm) and it weighs 74g.
