Unusual WW2 Royal Air Force Dental Branch Sweetheart Brooch

Here on offer is an unusual WW2 period Royal Air Force Dental Branch sweetheart brooch.

This unusual brooch appears to have been made from a gilt brass Dentist Branch, “DB winged” collar badge that has had the lugs removed and has then been set in clear plastic, like Lucite, with a black coloured backing.

On the reverse it still has its original vintage metal brooch pin ‘C’ clasp.

The brooch is in excellent condition and may be a custom made unique piece? It is the first one I have ever seen.

The brooch measures 1.75” (4.4cm) diameter and weighs 3g.
