Rare WW1 ALF’S BUTTON - Soldiers Good Luck Charm Lapel Badge

Here on offer is a rare original WW1 period “Good Luck” charm, in the form of a gilt button lapel pin badge.

These Alf’s Buttons would have been purchased by a loved one and given to a soldier to protect him whilst he served during WW1.

In the middle is a good luck horseshoe, with the words: '

ALF'S
BUTTON'

Around the edge it is inscribed with:

1ST BATTALION GOOD LUCK REGIMENT

On the steel back, it still retains its original swivel pin fitting.

It is in excellent undamaged condition, but most of its gilt finish has now been lost.

It measures 0.9” (2.3cm) diameter and weighs 4g.
