Scarce Great Western Railway (GWR) Bar of Glycerine Soap c1930

Here on offer is an original and scarce Great Western Railway (GWR) bar of soap, circa 1930.

This rectangular bar of soap appears to made from Glycerine and would have been used on the trains and the hotels that GWR operated back in the 1930’s.

On both sides of the bar, it is impressed with “GWR” in a circle with the font type they used in the 1930’s.

Parts of the GWR lettering is now missing on both sides and it displays some darkening to the surface, probably caused by oxidisation over the years.

A great and unusual piece of GWR railwayana which will make a great addition to any railway collection.

It measures 2.9” (7.3cm) by 2” (5cm) by 0.5” (1.5cm) and weighs 48g.
