Antique British Police Hickory Truncheon with Original Leather Wrist Strap Marked HIATT c1920

Here on offer is an antique British Police hickory truncheon with original leather wrist strap marked HIATT, circa 1920.

This truncheon has a finely turned grip with a more elaborate top and long lower shaped section, without any markings or maker’s details on the wood. It appears to be made from a lighter hickory wood, that now has a nice patina, with some discolouration at the top.

It retains its original strap that is stamped with the maker, HIATT, a very well-known manufacturer of police and other security equipment.

It appears to be the style used from the 1920’s or possibly earlier?

The truncheon is in great condition with just some chipping to the grip at the top and some light scratches/rub marks.

The truncheon itself measures 15.5” (39.5cm) long, by 1.3” (3.3cm) diameter at the wide end.

It weighs a heavy 275g.
