Vintage Belgian Military Three-Piece Clasp or Jack Knife by A.B.L. COLIN WINAND dated 1951

Here on offer is a vintage Belgian military three-piece, clasp or jack knife by A.B.L. COLIN WINAND and is dated 1951.

This three-piece type of clasp knife, has a single 2.4” plain blade and a bottle/can opener that is stamped on one side with the maker A.B.L. that stands for Armee Belge Legere, and COLIN WINAND along with the date 1951.

The knife also has a large folding marlinspike that is in excellent condition.

Finally, there is a flat headed screwdriver at front end.

It has chequered Bakelite grip scales are in excellent condition and held in place by two large steel pins.

It also still retains its original steel swivel lanyard loop.

The blade and tools fold into the grip, making it compact and easy to carry. I have lightly oiled (with gun oil) the blade/tool joints as they are very stiff to open.

The steel blade has some scratches and light surface rust marks., but retains its shape and it has a sharp original cutting edge. The other tools also show signs of light surface rust staining.

Overall, the knife is in great condition for a knife that is nearly 75 years old.

The blade cutting edge measures 2.4” (6cm) long and the knife when closed is 3.75” (9.5cm) long, excluding the lanyard ring.

It weighs 132g.
