Rare Miniature Household Cavalry Officers Sword by Wilkinson Sword with Presentation Box and Wooden Display Plinth
Here on offer is a miniature Household Cavalry Officers sword by Wilkinson Sword with silk lined presentation box and impressive wooden display plinth.
Established in 1772, Wilkinson Swords no longer manufacture swords or miniatures so these examples are becoming very collectable.
This example has been beautifully crafted and the pierced and studded alloy basket is fitted with a detailed gilt brass regimental badge.
The 6.7” long straight polished blade is plain on one side and on the other side, is ornately engraved with a scrolling pattern. It also displays the Queen Elizabeth's Crown, the E II R cypher and the Wilkinson Sword crest and details.
The miniature comes in its silk lined, dark blue lidded box, that is embossed in gilt on the lid with the Wilkinson Sword logo and Royal appointments.
It also has a wooden plinth or display stand, that is fitted with felt pads on the base. There are some tiny holes where I believe it may have been adapted to hang on a wall?
The sword appears to have been displayed on the wooden plinth at some point but remains in mint condition.
It measures 8. 5” (21.5cm) long and with the box and wooden plinth, weighs 440g.
