Here on offer is a fine example of a genuine WW2 British Army three-piece, clasp or jack knife by Joseph Rodgers of Sheffield dated 1942.

This three-piece type has a single 2.4” blade, that is stamped on one side of the ricasso with:

SHEFFIELD
ENGLAN (the “D” id missing)

On the other side is has the Joseph Rodgers maker’s mark of the “* +”.

The can opener is stamped on one side with a Broad Arrow, (only part now visible) and the year date 1942.

The knife also has a large marlinspike that is in excellent condition.

Finally, there is a flat headed screwdriver at the steel bolster end.

The steel bolster and chequered Bakelite grip scales are in excellent undamaged condition.

It also still retains its original large steel swivel lanyard loop.

The blades and tools fold into the grip, making it compact and easy to carry.

The polished steel blade has some scratches and marks where it has been sharpened.

The blade cutting edge measures 2.4” (6cm) long and the knife when closed is 3.75” (9.5cm) long, excluding the lanyard ring.

It weighs 152g.
