Set of Three Vintage Car Badges Relating to Guernsey - Mounted on Custom-made Metal Bracket
Here on offer is an interesting set of three vintage car badges relating to the island of Guernsey that are mounted on large custom-made metal bracket.
The three badges consist of the following:
A vintage GEM “V” car badge awarded for 53 years of unblemished driving by the Guild of Experienced Motorists.
A rare vintage Gurnsey car badge that depicts a coloured enamel States of Guernsey emblem, set on a chrome mounting frame, fixed with two screws.
A square shaped car badge for the Disabled Drivers Motor Club (DDMC)
All three of the badges have been fitted to a custom-made strong metal stepped bracket. It has been painted with a gloss British racing green paint, that was most likely the colour of the vehicle it was fitted too.
It has two holes drilled at the bottom to enable it to be fitted to a vehicle and retains over 90% of its original paint. There is some loss on the back and around the fixing holes.
It is unusual to find car badges still fitted to their original mounting bracket and this combination is most likely unique, as Guernsey have a limited number of registered cars.
The Guernsey badge measures 4.3” (11cm) tall and is 3.6” (9.3cm) wide.
The metal bracket is 14” (35.5cm) wide and weighs 740g.
