Customised 1999 Zippo Lighter with an Outer Casing of Matchsticks set with US 1980 Nickel Coin

Here on offer is a customised 1999 Zippo lighter that has been fitted with an outer casing made from matchsticks.

On the front it has been inset with a US 1980 Jefferson Nickel (5 Cent) coin.

By adding the matchstick outer casing, the lighter is easier and warmer to hold. The addition of the matchsticks has been very well done and they are all held securely in place.

The lighter’s polished steel frame is in excellent condition, with the hinge cover in full working order.

The lid hinges open to reveal the original protected lighter wick and the flint wheel. The wheel turns easily, but the flint has been removed to meet with shipping regulations.

The main body just pulls out to allow access to the wadding and flint screw.

There is no lighter fuel (petrol) in the lighter, to also meet shipping regulations.

On the base it has the Zippo maker’s deatils and is marked with XV and L.

The XV means it was made in 1999 and the L is the month it was made being December.

This customised Zippo will make an impressive and unique addition to any lighter collection.

It measures 1.4” (3.5cm) wide, 2.24” (5.6cm) high and 0.6” (1.4cm) thick.

It weighs 50g.
