WW1 Period Royal Navy H.M.S. RENOWN Plated Metal Vesta Case

Here on offer is a WW1 souvenir Royal Navy H.M.S. RENOWN plated metal vesta case.

This chrome plated vesta case has a hinged front lid, allowing access to the matches and a stricker plate on the lower edge. On the top it has a suspension ring to allow it to be hung from a chain.

On the front of the lid, it is fitted with a detailed brass and blue enamel H.M.S. RENOWN emblem that still retains all the original blue enamel.

The chrome plating now shows signs of wear and loss to the finish, but the metal case remains undamaged and the lid still closes snuggly.

This style of vesta was popular during WW1 and into WW2.

The vesta vase measures 2” (5cm) by 1.3” (3.4cm) and weighs 22g.
