Beautiful Antique French Silver “Dogs Head” Chatelaine Belt Clip

Here on offer is beautiful antique French silver “Dogs Head” chatelaine belt clip.

This wonderful little silver clip is designed to hook over the user’s belt/garment with the dog’s head folding closed, holding the clip in place.

A Chatelaine chain clasp can then be suspended from the large ring that the dog has in its mouth.

The front shows the finely detailed image of a fluffy dog’s head, possibly a type of Terrier?

It tests as continental silver and there is a tiny mark on the lower section of the blade that looks like a French Boar’s head silver mark, but it is hard to make out?

It is in excellent condition, with just light scratches to the blade section.

A wonderful and rare collectable and a useful ‘Chatelaine’ piece.

It measures 2.75” (7cm) high and weighs 22g.
