1919 WW1 “Peace Declared” King George V and Queen Mary Medal and Ribbon
Here on offer is a 1919 WW1 “Peace Victory” King George V and Queen Mary, white metal (pewter) commemorative medal and ribbon.
On the obverse is the image of the conjoined busts of their majesties crowned heads facing left.
The script around the edge reads as:
QUEEN MARY.
KING
GEORGE
V.
On the reverse it depicts the Victory Angel in Centre with Wings Spread Holding Peace Dove in Left Hand and Wreath in Right Hand.
Peace Victory below Wings with Farmer Ploughing on Left and Soldier with Artillery Piece on Right.
There are also the words:
PEACE VICTORY
1919
THE GREAT WAR
The medal is in excellent condition, still retaining its fine detailing.
It also comes with its original, red, white and blue silk ribbon and metal fixing pin.
It measures 1.5” (3.8cm) diameter and weighs 8g.
