Rare Large Parachute Regiment Horse Brass – Maker Marked John Ellis c1970
Here on offer is a very large example of a Parachute Regiment Horse Brass, that was made by John Ellis, in the 1970’s.
JOHN ELLIS, or John E Ellis (JEE), from England, who made quality brasses in the 70's and early 80s. These original JEE brasses are rare and well sort after due to their large size and quality.
The front depicts the Parachute Regiments emblem with a Queens Crown and the stamped words:
THE PARACHUTE REGIMENT
On the back it is stamped with the maker’s name:
JOHN ELLIS
There is also a letter “G” set in a circle, which I believe is a copyright symbol.
It is in excellent condition with some age related marks to the finish.
It measures 4.25” (10.8cm) by 3.6” (9.2cm) and weighs a heavy 202g of solid brass.
