Here on offer a beautifully engraved Victorian solid silver triple cigar case, by Thomas Acott & Co., of Birmingham, England and dates to 1894.

The case has been skilfully made and is perfectly shaped to hold up to three cigars. The outer surfaces have been hand engraved with floral leaves and scrolls and it has a cartouche on the top, engraved with the initials LL in a Victorian gothic style font.

On the edge is a release button mechanism that opens the case to reveal a striking gilded interior.
You have to apply a little pressure to close the case as it was designed, that ensures the catch stays firmly held in place.

Stamped inside one half of the is a clear set of English silver hallmarks, the Lion Passant for English silver (925), an anchor for the assay office of Birmingham and the date letter “U” for the year 1894.

It also shows the makers mark, that reads as “TA & Co”, which relates to the English maker:

Thomas Acott & Co. of Vyse Street, Birmingham

This cigar case is truly a fine quality piece that is in excellent original condition.

It measures 4.8” (12.2cm) long and 2.4” (6.1cm) wide and weighs 128g of sterling silver.
