Large Antique Victorian Brass Vesta Case depicting a Monkey’s Head with Fez Hat c1870

Here on offer is a large and charming antique Victorian brass vesta case, depicting a monkey’s head wearing a fez hat, circa 1870.


The vesta features the head of a wise monkey wearing a fez hat.

The hat acts as the lid of the vesta and is hinged with a nice firm action.

There is a striker plate embedded into the base and a ring and loop attached for hanging it from a watch chain.

There are no visible marks on the item and it now has a wonderful aged patina finish to the brass.

It is in excellent condition and makes a great addition to any vesta collection.


It measures 2.4” (6cm) wide by 2” (5.2cm) high and 0.9” (2.2cm) thick.

It weighs 32g.
