Cased Cornwall Light Infantry Bronze Regimental Sports Medal by F. Phillips Aldershot 1928

Here on offer is an impressive Cornwall Light Infantry, Bronze Regimental sports medal by F. Phillips of Aldershot, with its original fitted case.

It was awarded for 2nd place in discus, at the Regimental Sports event, held at Aldershot in 1928.

On the front it depicts the entwined initials, C.L.I., of the Cornwall Light Infantry below a crown, which is set in the centre of a ring of battle honour ribbons for the Regiment.

On the reverse there is a laurel wreath, with a tide ribbon and the bottom. In the centre it has been engraved with:

The medal still retains its original hinged blue leatherette fitted case, that has the maker’s name and details on the inside of the lid.

The bronze medal is in excellent condition with some light age patina to the finish.

It measures 1.75” (4.4cm) diameter and weighs 40g.
