Small WW1 Carved Oak Picture Frame with Photo of British Soldier
Here on offer is a small WW1 carved oak picture frame with photo of British soldier
This hexagonal oak frame has been skilfully hand carved in relief on the front with stemmed flowers.
In the centre is a domed glass covered round sepia photo of an impressive British soldier in uniform, with a full handlebar mustache.
I just can’t make out the cap badge enough to identify the regiment he served in during WW1.
On the top of the frame is an original but slightly rusty, loop and ring to enable it to be hung on a wall.
The photo is held securely in place with a sprung metal ring and wooden wedge. So I haven’t been able to remove the photo to see if there is a name/regiment written on the back?
It measures 4” (10.2cm) across the flats and is 0.75” (1.8cm) deep.
It weighs 81g.
