Original Early 1933-1936 Hitler Youth Knife by PUMA with Blut und Ehre! Motto

Here on offer is an early original Hitler Youth Knife by PUMA, with a full blade motto “Blut und Ehre!”.

The nickel-silver hilt fittings are in excellent condition but do show some light age tarnishing.

The Bakelite grip plates are in perfect condition and are still held in place by the two original dome topped nickel rivets.

The HJ diamond emblem is in excellent condition and retains all its enamel and wobbles slightly in the grip, as it should.

The blade is in good unsharpened condition and has some slight age greying to the finish, which may polish out. There is also a tiny nick on the cutting edge towards the tip and the very tip is slightly curved and rounded.

It is the thin blade version with NO stepped ricasso and it has the Hitler Youth motto, Blut und Ehre!” (Blood and Honour) etched on the front side, which is still crisp and clear.

On the reverse it has a maker’s mark, being the name:

PUMA
SOLINGEN

and the words:

GES. GESCHUTZT (Copyrighted)

The original leather buffer pad is still in place albeit in worn condition.

The undented steel scabbard still retains nearly all of its original satin black paint.

The original dark brown leather belt loop hanger and fastening strap with stud are still in place and in excellent condition. There is just a tiny drawing pin hole at the top, where is has been hung on display in the past.

This is a fine example with a clear blade motto which are now becoming really hard to find.

The blade measures 5.3” (13.5cm) long and the knife is 9.6” (24.5cm) in total length.

It weighs 300g.
