Scarce First Edition of THE 2nd RHODESIA REGIMENT IN EAST AFRICA by Capell A.E. and Published by Simson & Co. in 1923

Here on offer is an original first edition, hard back copy of the book, THE 2nd RHODESIA REGIMENT IN EAST AFRICA by Capell A.E. and published by Simson & Co. in 1923.

The book provides a detailed account of the regiment’s work in East Africa during WW1, with a foreword by Major-General Sir Alfred H.M. Edwards. Commandant-General, Rhodesian Forces.

This copy is an ex-War Office Library copy and is in what I would say is fair, well used condition but importantly, still includes the folding map at the front.

The boards are still sturdy but shelf rubbed, edge worn and marked, with the edges and spine faded/discoloured. There are also sections of the spine cover missing and the lower remaining sections are loose. The binding seems to still be secure.

There is no dust jacket.

Internally, if has various official War Office stamps, one dated 1924 in the front page and map.

There is some very minor foxing scattered throughout and age-related wear to the pages.

The book measures 9.2” (23.2cm) by 6” (15.3cm) and is 0.7” (1.6cm) thick and weighs 375g.
