Near Mint Royal Navy Master-at Arms Warrant Officer’s 1827 Pattern Sword by Wilkinson Sword with Scabbard and Dress Knot c1990

Here on offer is a near mint Royal Navy Master-at Arms Warrant Officer’s 1827 pattern sword by Wilkinson Sword with scabbard and dress knot circa 1990, that is in parade ground condition.

The sword is the 1827 pattern and has a beautiful 31” single edged fullered plain blade.

On the ricasso it has the famous Wilkinson Sword maker’s logo and Royal appointment crest.

The blade is in mint condition with just some light oil applied to keep it that way during storage.

On the top edge it is stamped with a serial number 120677, which from the Wilkinson Sword date records, indicates it was made around 1990.

The beautiful anchor detailed gilt brass hilt guard and domed pommel retain nearly all of the original gilt finish, with some loss to the edges and raised detailing.

The black fish skin grip is perfect and the grip wire is in place.

The folding guard section works perfectly and locates properly onto the top scabbard locket’s retaining pin as it should.

The gilt brass mounted leather scabbard is also in excellent condition, with minimal loss to the gilt.

It is fitted with a perfect black and gold dress knot and the sword sheathes and draws very well.

I believe these swords can still be used by serving British, Australian, Canadian or New Zealand naval officers as well as making a great addition to a discerning collector that only buys the best.

With Wilkinson Sword now out of business yet so rightfully revered, this is a wonderful opportunity to give a newly commissioned officer something very special and yet sadly no longer available to buy from new. There is no officer’s name to the blade or folding guard.

The mint steel blade measures 31” (78.8cm) long and the whole sword (blade in scabbard) measures 37.75” (96cm).

It weighs a heavy 1.1Kg.
