Mint Small German made Hunting Knife with Leather Sheath – Souvenir of Unterwasser Switzerland c1960
Here on offer is a mint vintage small German souvenir hunting knife with leather sheath, a souvenir of Unterwasser, Switzerland, circa 1960.
It has a single edged stainless-steel blade, stamped GERMANY near the grip. The blade is near mint with just some very light scratches to the finish.
It even still has the original oiled paper that was used to protect the blade from moisture.
The grip is made from a moulded plastic, that looks like stag horn, with the image of a stag’s head on the front.
It has the originally leather sheath that is in mint condition, with all the rivets and stitching in place.
On the front it has an applied transfer with the name:
Unterwasser
Unterwasser is a village in the Toggenburg region of the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland, situated at the confluence of the two streams forming the upper Thur.
This would have been purchased by a tourist as a reminder of their visit to the village, back in the 1960’s and appears to never have been used.
The blade measures 2.25” (5.7cm) long and the knife is 4.75” (12cm) in total length.
It weighs 22g.
