Two Inert Arden Cannon 30mm Practice Rounds from a Harrier Jump Jet, c1980

Here on offer are two inert Arden Cannon 30mm Practice rounds from a Harrier Jump Jet, circa 1980.

Each round has light blue paint on the top section that help to indicate that they are “Practise” rounds.

One round still has a printed label stuck to the base that reads:

Arden Cannon Shell 30mm
Practise Only
From Harrier
Vertical Take Off and Land
Jet Fighter

There are various ordnance markings around the lower circumference and recess of the brass shell case:

On one they read as:

093A CY 88 PRAC 4Z
J 30MM RG 88

On the other they are:

703 CY 81 PRAC 4Z
J 30MM RG 81

The “RG XX” markings indicate that these 30mm practice rounds where manufactured by Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF), Radway Green, one in 1988 the other in 1981.

The Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF), Radway Green, Cheshire, England, manufactured small arms ammunition for the British armed forces.

The rounds are in excellent condition and make great display pieces.

They each measure 7.9” (20cm) high and weigh a heavy 615g.
