Vintage Pruning Knife with Oak Grips by Joseph Rodgers Sheffield England circa 1960

Here on offer is a vintage pruning knife with oak grips by the English maker, Joseph Rodgers, Sheffield, England circa 1960.

The grip is made up from two dark coloured oak slabs, which appear to stuck in place as there is no sign of any pins which is slightly unusual?

The slightly curved blade has the maker’s trademark and name stamped on one side of the ricasso, which is now very faint and hard to read;

On the ither side its si stamped:
SHEFFIELD
ENGLAND

The blade now has an overall aged greying to the finish and some light pitting. There is a slight rounding to the tip.

It is in excellent working order with firm full stop, when opened. There is no wobble when the blade is fully open.

The blade measures 2.5” (6.3cm) long and the knife is 6” (15.2cm) long when open and weighs 56g.
