Here on offer is a fine antique cased bronze medallion from Marling School, located in Stroud, Gloucestershire, England, complete with its fitted presentation case.
It was awarded to the winner of the 220yds junior handicapped athletic race, a J.H. VINER in 1924.
Marling School is the oldest secondary school for boys in Stroud, having been founded in 1887 by Sir Samuel Marling, a local cloth manufacturer and former Liberal Member of Parliament, along with Sir Francis Hyett and Mr S.S. Dickinson.
The front features the Marling School crest and the motto: Abeunt studia in Mores (Studies form character)
Around the edge are the words:
MARLING SCHOOOL STROUD
The reverse is engraved with the winners’ details:

220 Yds Hand. Junior
This medal is in excellent/mint condition with a nice age patina.
It measures 2” (5cm) diameter and weighs 53g.
