Limited Edition David Yellowhorse Silver Series 3rd Edition "Sacred Buffalo" Knife - No. 2207 of 2500 c1998

Here on offer is a limited-edition David Yellowhorse Silver Series, 3rd Edition "Sacred Buffalo" folding knife, serial number 2207 of 2500 that where produced.

It comes with its original fitted case and a limited-edition Certificate of Authenticity and is in near mint condition.

This 1998 United Cutlery brand folding knife is one of the 3rd edition in the Silver Series, from David Yellowhorse titled "Sacred Buffalo".

This knife is dedicated to what was the most important part of the Native American plains’ tribes’ culture, the Buffalo.

The Sioux and Cheyenne were often referred to as a Buffalo Culture. They depended on the buffalo to sustain a total way of life. Food, shelter, clothing, weapons, cooking utensils, everything came from this incredible animal.

Both scales are made of 925 sterling silver with a total weight of 1 troy ounce. One edge is stamped with:

AFC. 925 STERLING

They are adorned on "both sides" with turquoise, black jet, and orange spiney oyster stones.

PLEASE NOTE: On the front, one of the turquoise stones has a tip section missing and, on the back, one of black jet stones is slightly chipped on the tip.
I have seen other examples of these knives do show similar damage to the stone settings, so I believe these where actually done at the time the knife was made, not through any use, as this knife is in near mint condition and looks to have been stored in its case since it was made.

There is also the image of a Buffalo in the middle of each scale and both sides are finished the same manner.

The high-quality stainless-steel blade is etched on one side with the famous David Yellowhorse horse head logo, as well as an etch of his signature. This knife also has the D Y tang stamp and its limited-edition serial number 2207.

The knife is 5.5" (14cm) long when open and has a 2.2" (5.5cm) long blade and weighs 73g.
