Original German Day Badge - 1st May 1936
Here on offer is an original German Day Badge that celebrated “Tag der Arbeit” (labour day) on 1st May 1936.
The badge is made out of a round die struck aluminium-alloy disc.
The obverse depicts an old plough, riveting hammer and broad sword along with a German national eagle and reads “1. Mai 1936” along with a tiny and hard to see “RK” at the bottom left.
On the reverse it retains its original metal pin and clasp and has the maker’s name:
FERD. WAGNER
PFORZHEIM
The brooch is in excellent condition with some age dulling to the aluminium finish.
It measures 1.4” (3.5cm) diameter and weighs 5g.
