Memorable Order of Tin Hats (M.O.T.H) Stick Pin Badge
Here on offer is a fine example of a Memorable Order of Tin Hats (M.O.T.H) stick pin badge.
The stick pin seems to be made from brass that now shows a dark aged patina to the finish.
It has the famous WW1/2 allied tin hat to the top with M.O.T.H in a raised letters on the front.
The long pin is still securely attached to the back of the hat and the whole stick pin is in excellent condition.
A brief history of M.O.T.H.
The Memorable Order of Tin Hats (M.O.T.H.) was founded in 1927 by Charles Evenden as a brotherhood of South African former front-line soldiers. The ideal is to help comrades in need, either financially or physically; and to remember all servicemen who have answered the Sunset Call, both in war and peacetime.
The tin hat measures 0.75” (1.8cm) long and the whole pin is 2” (5.1cm) long.
It weighs 3g.
