Original WW2 Period German Hitler Youth Belt with Buckle

Here on offer is an original and well used, WW2 period German Hitler Youth thick leather belt with buckle.

This example is the nickel plated, single-piece, stamped steel version and shows age/usage related plating loss especially to the edges.

The obverse displays in relief a standard HJ motif consisting of an eagle in the centre perched atop a HJ diamond, surrounded by a serrated circular border with an inner and outer rope, and the HJ motto “Blut und Ehre” (Blood and Honour).

The reverse has a double-prong swivel bar and belt hook.

On the inner lip, it is actually stamped with a small RZM circle and the letter M can only just be seen. The M would be the start of the normal RZM maker’s code, but I can’t make out the remaining characters.



The leather Belt remains in very good supple but well used condition. What I find interesting is you can see where the prong holes have been continually added as the owner has got larger around the waist! The buckle is now fitted to the last and final set of holes, making the belt about a 35” wearable size. Interestingly a couple of steel hollow rivets have been set into the belt holes to strengthen it, when it was about 26”.

Clip to the end of the buckle it measures 35.75” (91cm) long and weighs 180g.
