Genuine Royal Air Force (RAF) Ceremonial Sword Belt with hangers for Officers Below Air Rank 30 – 34”

Here on offer is a genuine Royal Air Force (RAF) Ceremonial Sword belt with hangers and fittings for Officers below Air Rank, waist size 30 to 34”. The size can be adjusted by changing the inner small buckle and strap.

I acquired ten of these belts, of varying sizes, that have just surfaced. They were apparently used once in a RAF parade and then put into storage, around 2000. I believe most of these belts were made by Wilkinson Sword at the time.

The circular gilt buckle has the spread winged RAF eagle and Queens Crown along with the words: Per Ardua Ad Astra.

The belt and hangers have a striking RAF Blue material front, with two gold braded stripes, that are fitted to a black leather backing.

Fitted to the belt are two hanging straps with gilt lobster claw clips and buckles.

This belt has been used but is in excellent/near mint condition. It just shows some signs of
stretching to the inner leather straps that hold the hangers, caused by the hanging weight of a sword.

There are some hand written unit markings in white letters inside the belt and the size has been written on the leather tab in black ink.

Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.
