Rare Original WW2 Polish Pilot’s Sweetheart Bracelet with Miniature “Gapa” Badge

Here on offer is a very rare and unusual original WW2 Polish pilot’s sweetheart bracelet.

The bracelet seems to be made from a low-grade silver or possibly nickel silver?

It has a central hand chiselled rectangular plaque fitted with a raised section in gold, topped with a finely detailed miniature silver Polish pilot’s “Gapa” badge, set against a green and silver edged background.

The pilot’s badge is known in the Polish Air Force as “Gapa”. It is in the form of a flying eagle holding a laurel crown in its beak.

The reverse is just plain and I can’t see nay makers or silver marks anywhere on the bracelet.

This may well be a unique piece that was made for a Polish pilot’s sweetheart by a professional metalworker or jeweller.

Then on either side of the central plaque two strands of round metal links, merge into a single strand, which then terminate in a loop at one end and a catch at the other.

It also has a safety chain fitted, with a sprung catch and ring, to help ensure the bracelet doesn’t drop of your wrist.

The bracelet is in excellent/near mint condition and has possibly never been worn?

It measures 7.7” (19.4cm) long, end to end and weighs 26g.
